Cllr Martin Mullaney, Chairman of the Birmingham Cultural Partnership, looks forward to a culture-filled 24 hours in Birmingham.

With the Big Culture Blog now underway I’m looking forward to reading your contributions over the next 24 hours and hopefully learning a lot more about cultural activities across Birmingham.

I had an early start this morning, appearing on Radio 4’s Today Programme before 7am promoting this blog and with the build-up now over I’m ready for the action to unfold.

Personally I’m going to take a walk down to the Created in Birmingham shop in the Bull Ring . The shop stocks photography, illustration, tees, tote bags, jewellery, books and all sorts of other things that have been made locally.

After that I think I’ll visit the Bridget Riley exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. And then, who knows?

There’s certainly plenty on offer and this article lists a few options.

Whatever you decide to do over the next 24 hours, what matters is that you get involved and let us know.

Help us shape Birmingham’s bid to be the UK City of Culture 2013.
